Development is happening again in Bible Reader! After an incredible length of time, I’m now dedicating some of it to software development. With the help of my good friend Ryan, we’re pushing forward with the next release. This release will be a completely rewritten application in Cocoa, which will bring two major advances over the current 0.99 version: increase in speed and Universal Binary (Intel) support. Tests so far show a marked improvement in navigating the texts, so I’m expecting speed-ups in other areas too.

Features-wise, I’m aiming to match the overal functionality of version 0.99, except in the case of the Search feature, which is likely to be more advanced due to the built-in routines I intend to call upon.

Once I’m happy with the overall stability of the application I will release the new version as an update for everyone waiting for Intel support.

Where do the Translations go?

Designed with the user in mind, Bible Reader Free allows you to access the Bible quickly, change the view of the text to your own taste and display multiple passages simultaneously. The built-in search facility will look up keywords across all, or select parts of the Bible.

Bible Reader Free also contains Swaps, a user-definable list of words or phrases that will replace matched words in the text: change the “thee”s and thou”s to “you”s and “your”s!
